The earliest known fabric was woven from Hemp. 2700 B.C. the first written record of Cannabis use was made in the pharmacopoeia of Shen Nung, one of the fathers of Chinese medicine. 800 A.D. Islamic prophet Mohammed permits Cannabis use but forbids alcohol. 1619 Jamestown Colony, Virginia enacted the new worlds first Cannabis legislation, ordering all farmers to grow Hemp. Farmers could face fines or jail for not growing Hemp, a farmer could pay his taxes with Hemp. 1776, Washington's troops would have frozen to death if it had not been for Hemp.
1850, there were over 8000 farms with a minimum of 2000 acres growing Cannabis Hemp for industrial purposes.  There is not one negative point the government can make about Hemp. Over 20,000 products can be made from Hemp, including plastics. Along with soybeans, corn and other fuel mixtures, Hemp could go along way to make us oil-free.
Jack Herer, author of.. the Emperor wears no clothes, is the leading proponent of Hemp use in this country. Please visit his site to learn what you can do to help legalize this God given plant.
